A Pike Road resident, Treneal De’Ron Beasley, 25, has been sentenced to 72 months in federal prison for illegal possession of a machinegun. The sentence was handed down on July 31, 2025. After serving his prison term, Beasley will also complete three years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
The case began on August 17, 2024, when Montgomery Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. The report indicated that a woman’s child’s father was trying to force entry into her home. When officers arrived at the scene, they heard an argument inside and entered the residence. Inside, they found Beasley holding a handgun and took him into custody.
Authorities later discovered that the handgun had been modified with a machinegun conversion device known as a “switch.” This attachment allows a semi-automatic firearm to fire as many as 20 rounds per second with one pull of the trigger. Beasley pleaded guilty to possession of a machinegun on March 26, 2025.
The Montgomery Police Department worked with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) during the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney J. Patrick Lamb prosecuted the case.
