U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has introduced two bills aimed at banning the use of Sharia Law in the United States. The legislation comes after Senator Tuberville gave a speech last week in which he expressed concerns about national security risks posed by radical Islamic extremism.

The first bill, called the No Sharia Act, would prevent the application of Sharia Law in situations where it conflicts with constitutional rights. The second bill, named the Preserving a Sharia Free America Act, seeks to bar foreign nationals who advocate for Sharia Law from entering the country.

"Sharia Law is fundamentally anti-American and has no place in our country," said Sen. Tuberville. "If you want to peacefully practice your religion, you have every right to do so under the Constitution. But if you want to come to the United States and advocate for the practice of Sharia Law over U.S. law, you should not be here. We do not want people who chant ‘death to America’ residing in our communities and endangering our families. We must protect American values, not apologize for them. I hope my colleagues can come alongside me in this effort to preserve our Constitutional and God-given rights."

Similar measures have been introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL-06), Rep. Keith Self (R-TX-03), and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX-21).

Senator Tuberville serves on several Senate committees including Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, HELP, and Aging.
