EDA awards over $33 million in grants for economic development projects in Alabama in 2022

In 2022, the Economic Development Administration (EDA) issued 15 grants totaling $33,450,820 to fund economic development projects in Alabama.

This represents a 4.9% increase over 2021, when the state received $31,892,513 in funding.

Alabama ranked 41st across the U.S. in total EDA grant funding for 2022. California topped the list with $238,656,132 in funding across 57 grants.

City of Birmingham received the largest EDA grant for funding an economic development project in the state, totalling $10,764,981.
