NFIB conducted its annual Small Business Day at the Capitol in Montgomery, bringing together members from across the state to discuss issues impacting Alabama's small businesses. State Senator Chris Elliott provided updates on business taxes and regulations in Alabama.

Kailah Dozier from the Alabama Community College System Innovation Center addressed workforce development and training opportunities for young people not pursuing college education. Her focus on "upscaling" the workforce was affirmed by Nick Moore, Education Policy Advisor & Coordinator in the Governor's Office. Moore informed NFIB members about scholarship funding and support for underperforming students.

State Supreme Court Justice Will Sellers explained the workings of Alabama's judicial system, while Mark Colson, president and CEO of the Alabama Trucking Association, discussed collaboration with NFIB to prevent lawsuit abuse in the state.

Rosemary Elebash, NFIB State Director, expressed gratitude to the speakers for engaging in vital economic discussions, stating, "All in all, it was a great opportunity for our members to hear about the challenges affecting our state’s economy, especially our small businesses. On behalf of our members, I want to thank all of our speakers for joining us and engaging with us on these important issues."
