Kay Raines

Today, Clarke Raines was sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole for the Murder of his mother, Kay Raines. He was also sentenced to 10 years for each of the 13 counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.

Mrs. Raines was a beautiful, kind soul whose only family left was her son. She cared for him and supported him long into his adult life. In return, he brutally strangled her face-to-face and buried her in a shallow grave. Afterwards, Clarke started using his mother's credit cards and sold her belongings. The Mobile County District Attorney's Office is extremely pleased with the sentence imposed on Clarke Raines. From his arrest, throughout trial, and sitting in the courtroom today for sentencing, Clarke Raines showed no remorse for the cold and calculated act of murdering his own mother. The citizens of Mobile County are safer today with Clarke Raines remaining in prison for the rest of his life.

Thank you to the friends and neighbors of Kay Raines for searching for their dear friend and for standing in court today in her honor.
