Birmingham man pleads guilty to seven counts of murder for hire

A Birmingham resident has admitted guilt to charges of murder for hire, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona.

Mohammad Mohammad, 64, of Hoover, Alabama, entered a guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Madeline H. Haikala on seven counts related to murder for hire.

Court documents state that in September 2024, Mohammad met with an undercover law enforcement officer whom he believed was a contract killer. During the meeting, Mohammad discussed arrangements and payment for the killing of his wife and six adult children.

Each count carries a statutory maximum sentence of ten years.

The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan S. Cross and William R. McComb.
