The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is set to commence a resurfacing project on State Route 19 in Marion County. The project will cover a 9.8-mile stretch from the Lamar County line to Sentry Road in Hamilton. It aims to enhance both mobility and safety by resurfacing the road and installing guardrails.

Work is scheduled to start on Monday, September 22, and is expected to continue until the end of the year, depending on weather conditions. During this period, traffic will be managed by a pilot car guiding vehicles through the work zone. Drivers should anticipate potential delays and are advised to adhere to posted speed limits within the work area.

S.T. Bunn Construction Company has been awarded the contract for this project at a cost of $2.30 million. For those seeking real-time updates on traffic conditions related to this project, ALDOT recommends downloading the ALGOTraffic app or visiting their website at ALGOTraffic.com.
