SPECIAL AGENT SPOTLIGHT:
Recently, Special Agent (SA) Mark Whitaker was presented with the Agency’s Certificate of Commendation by Secretary Hal Taylor for his relentless pursuit of the truth and justice, and for bringing closure to a number of loved ones in the cold case of Auburn resident, Lori Ann Slesinski.
Lori disappeared in June of 2006, her vehicle was found engulfed in flames at the dead end of Dekalb Street in Auburn, but her body was never recovered.
In 2016, SA Whitaker took on the 10-year-old cold case, developed a team, rebuilt a case, and helped send Rick Ennis to prison for life. Enis was arrested in 2018 in Pilot, Virginia, however, the trial was postponed until April of 2022 due to Covid-19.
In May of this year, CBS’s “48 Hours” traveled to Auburn to film the heart-wrenching story of Lori’s disappearance and interview SA Whitaker. The episode aired nationally on Saturday, Sept. 24, but it can be viewed online at: https://www.cbsnews.com/.../lori-ann-slesinski.../
