NFIB members from across the state convened in Montgomery on March 12 for Small Business Day at the Capitol. The event featured meetings with key state officials and offered insights into issues affecting small businesses in Alabama.

Participants met with Brooks McClendon, deputy chief of staff for Governor Kay Ivey, and Secretary of State Pat Harris. Other notable speakers included Stephanie Smith, president of the Alabama Public Policy Institute, and Kailah Dozier, director of marketing with the Alabama Community College System’s Innovation Center. Additionally, attendees toured the Alabama House of Representatives led by Clay Redden, the House public information officer.

“This was a great event that give our members and guests the opportunity to speak with state leaders and learn more about the issues facing Alabama’s small businesses,” said NFIB State Director Rosemary Elebash. She added her appreciation for all speakers who engaged with members on current challenges.
