ALDOT is set to conduct repairs on the SR-127 Elk River relief bridge in Limestone County next week. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will focus on a section of concrete in the deck of the relief bridge, located just north of the Elk River bridge near Leggtown Road.
The repair work will necessitate the closure of the northbound lane of SR-127 at the bridge site starting Tuesday, February 25. This closure will remain in effect around the clock until ALDOT anticipates reopening it on Wednesday afternoon or evening, February 26, once the new concrete has adequately cured.
During this period, portable traffic signals will manage overnight traffic. These signals will alternate between allowing northbound and southbound traffic to cross using the southbound lane. Drivers are advised to exercise caution, be prepared to stop, and follow instructions from signals or flaggers present at the site.
