PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MORGAN COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
JOHNNY RAY JORDAN ARRESTED FOR HOME REPAIR FRAUD
July 11, 2022 — Decatur, AL — Johnny Ray Jordan, 61 of Huntsville, was arrested today by investigators with the Morgan County District Attorney’s Office for home repair fraud.
Jordan was recently arrested by a detective with the Decatur Police Department for two (2) counts of possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and two (2) counts of home repair fraud.
Investigators Johnny Coker and Chris Jones with the Morgan County District Attorney’s Office became aware of a similar incident that occurred in Laceys Spring in October of 2021. They began an independent investigation, where the victim reported that she entered into multiple contracts with Jordan to perform contracting work at her residence. In all, Jordan took over $43,000 from the woman for repair work that was never completed.
Because Jordan has a previous conviction for home repair fraud, this offense is treated as a Class C felony. Jordan remains in the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond on the newest charge of home repair fraud.
This defendant is presumed innocent of the charges against him until proven guilty in a court of law.
