Don't Let Cogongrass Choke Alabama

28

As turkey season starts this week, keep in mind how easily and aggressively cogongrass spreads. When uprooted, rhizome fragments less than 1/4 inch can re-sprout and its dandelion-like seeds travel easily by air currents, clothing, gear, and vehicles. If you hunt on cogongrass-contaminated property, rid your belongings of seeds or root fragments before moving into an uncontaminated site. Report cogongrass by calling (334) 240‑7225.
