The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is set to begin the second phase of repairs on the US-43 bridge over Cedar Creek. The work will focus on the southbound bridge deck, located south of Russellville in Franklin County. ALDOT plans to close the outside southbound lane starting mid-morning on Monday, October 20, with an expected reopening by Thursday afternoon, October 23.
Motorists should anticipate delays and are advised to reduce speed and prepare to merge when approaching the work zone. The repairs are contingent on weather conditions. ALDOT's statewide bridge crew will collaborate with local personnel for this project.
For those seeking real-time updates on traffic and road conditions, ALDOT recommends visiting ALGOtraffic.com or downloading the ALGO Traffic app. Last week, a different section of the bridge deck was successfully repaired.
