The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has announced the closure of the entrance and exit southbound ramps at Chalkville Mountain Road, exit 141. This closure is part of an ongoing construction project on I-59, stretching from the I-459 interchange in Birmingham to Chalkville Mountain Road in Trussville. The closures will begin at midnight on Sunday, July 21.

During this phase of construction, motorists will be unable to enter or exit I-59 southbound from Chalkville Mountain Road. ALDOT has advised that speed limits will be reduced in construction areas and urges drivers to exercise caution when navigating work zones. Traffic delays are anticipated in the area.

To avoid delays, ALDOT recommends that motorists use alternate routes and suggests utilizing the ALGO Traffic app for planning. For current traffic alerts and further information about the project, individuals can visit www.i59trussville.com.
