The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is set to begin a resurfacing project on US-29 in Macon County starting Monday, July 14, contingent on weather conditions. The work will cover the stretch from SR-186 to the Lee County Line and will involve resurfacing and traffic striping.

Motorists traveling through this area should anticipate lane closures and reduced speed limits during the project's duration. ALDOT advises drivers to plan their routes accordingly and exercise caution around workers and equipment in the construction zone.

The project is slated for completion by Fall 2025. For updates on traffic conditions, individuals can use the ALGO Traffic app or visit algotraffic.com.
