Josh McLeod, the director of Federal Government Relations for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), recently appeared on "Viewpoint Alabama" on the Alabama Radio Network. During his appearance, McLeod discussed efforts to repeal federal beneficial ownership reporting requirements.

McLeod emphasized that if these requirements are not fully repealed or deemed unconstitutional, 32 million small businesses across the nation could face this mandate again. He noted that non-compliance could result in criminal and civil penalties, including up to two years in federal prison and fines reaching $10,000.

The NFIB has consistently opposed this law and is actively working to block and repeal it through federal courts and Congress.
