The resurfacing project on SR-67/Beltline Road in Decatur is set to progress to its next phase. The focus will be on the section between Danville Road and SR-24/Gordon Terry Parkway. With paving completed on all through lanes of SR-67/Beltline Road between US-31/Sixth Avenue and Danville Road, Grayson Carter and Son Contracting is preparing to start patching and milling the northern segment. Meanwhile, work will continue on paving intersections, crossovers, and turn lanes in the southern part of the project.
Motorists should be prepared for lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. At least one lane in each direction will remain open during these times. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) advises drivers to reduce speed in the work zone and exercise caution at intersections or when entering turn lanes and crossovers. Traffic signals may also experience disruptions during this process.
For updates on traffic and road conditions, ALDOT recommends visiting ALGOTraffic.com. The $3.3 million project, which spans five miles, is expected to be completed by early fall.
