The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is set to begin a resurfacing project on State Route 14 in Elmore County starting Monday, July 7, weather permitting. The work will extend from Jackson Street in the town of Elmore to State Route 212 in Wetumpka.

The project involves resurfacing, traffic striping, and guardrail installation at designated locations within the project limits. Motorists should anticipate lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the duration of the work. ALDOT advises drivers to plan their routes accordingly and exercise caution around workers and equipment in the area.

Asphalt Contractors, Inc., based in Montgomery, was awarded the approximately $3 million contract after submitting the lowest bid that met all project requirements. The completion of the project is expected by Fall 2025.

For updates on traffic conditions, ALDOT recommends downloading the ALGO Traffic app or visiting algotraffic.com.
