The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has announced plans to remove an abandoned railroad bridge on US-11 near Chamblee Avenue, northeast of Woodstock in Tuscaloosa County. The project is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 3, and is expected to continue until late 2025, depending on weather conditions.

The contractor responsible for the project, Carcel & G Construction, was awarded a contract valued at $2.13 million. To minimize traffic disruptions, lane closures will be limited to Sunday through Thursday nights between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Motorists traveling in the area should anticipate potential delays and are advised to adhere to work-zone speed limits.
