ALABAMA STATE UNIVERSITY: COVID-19 Disaster Preparedness Planning Virtual Course Set

Alabama State University issued the following announcement on Nov. 12.

When disaster strikes, what’s the first move? What steps should you and/or your employees take in the event of an emergency to stay safe and protect your business operation? COVID-19 pandemic suddenly rendered many small businesses inoperable.

The Small Business Development Center at Alabama State University is offering a free course on COVID-19 Disaster Preparedness Planning Virtual Course - Intellectual Property - Module 4.2 on Nov.  18, 2020 held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The course is led by Taisha Brown Aracen, Small Business Preparedness and Disaster Recovery Consultant.

This course is designed to equip small businesses with information to mitigate risk from disasters and pandemic such as COVID-19, hurricane, fire, or cyber-attacks.  Training topic will include COVID-19 general support, disaster planning, disaster recovery and risk management.

This interactive course will assist small business with developing disaster readiness and recovery strategies for implementation to protect and keep their employees and customers safe from disasters and epidemics, while ensuring the continued operation of their business.

To attend the virtual training, attendees must preregister at https://asbdc.ecenterdirect.com/events/8643  then click on the green “sign up” link at top of page. Instructions for signing in to the session will be forwarded to participants in a separate email 30 minutes before the event to join the ZOOM meeting.  Once signed in to ZOOM, you will be placed in a virtual waiting room and admitted individually

Participants are encouraged to complete the entire series for full benefit of the course.  Participants can also sign up for no cost one-on-one business advisement with the instructor for an individual assessment and assistance with creating their Disaster Preparedness/Recovery Plan.
