US-43 bridge over Cedar Creek, south of Russellville in Franklin County. | Alabama Department of Transportation
The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is set to commence the third phase of repairs on the US-43 bridge over Cedar Creek next week. The work will focus on the southbound section of the bridge, located south of Russellville in Franklin County. This project follows two previous repairs completed in October.
To facilitate the repair, ALDOT plans to close the outside southbound lane of US-43 at the bridge. This closure is expected to start around 10 a.m. on Monday, November 3, and, weather permitting, the lane should reopen by Wednesday afternoon, November 5. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and prepare for merging as they approach the work zone.
For updates on traffic and road conditions during this period, travelers can visit ALGOtraffic.com or use the ALGO Traffic app. The statewide bridge crew from ALDOT will be assisting local personnel with these repairs.
