The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is set to commence a resurfacing project on State Route 28 in Sumter County. The work will span from the intersection of County Road 21 to the intersection of US-80 near Bellamy, covering a distance of 6.2 miles. This initiative aims to enhance both mobility and safety along this stretch.
The project is scheduled to start on Monday, November 3, and is anticipated to continue until spring 2026. S.T. Bunn Construction Company has been awarded the contract for this undertaking, valued at $2.45 million.
Motorists traveling through the area should be prepared for potential delays and are advised to adhere to posted work-zone speed limits. For those seeking real-time traffic updates, ALDOT recommends downloading the ALGOTraffic app or visiting their website at ALGOTraffic.com.
