The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is set to begin a resurfacing project on State Route 106 in Butler and Crenshaw counties. The work is scheduled to start on Wednesday, June 18, weather permitting. This project will cover approximately 12.5 miles, extending from McKenzie Grade Road to just beyond the Patsaliga Creek Bridge.

The project involves resurfacing the road, widening shoulders, maintaining and installing guardrails, and updating roadway traffic markings. Motorists should anticipate lane closures and reduced speed limits during the construction period. ALDOT advises drivers to plan their routes accordingly and exercise caution around workers and equipment.

Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., based in Dothan, was awarded the $4.5 million contract after submitting the lowest bid that met all project requirements. The completion of this project is expected by early spring 2026.

For real-time traffic updates related to this project, ALDOT recommends visiting ALGO Traffic.
