The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has announced plans to resurface and install guardrails on a section of SR-18 in Lamar County. The project will cover a 4.4-mile stretch from east of County Road 31 to the intersection of 10th Street Northwest in Vernon. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 16, and is expected to continue until early fall 2025.

S.T. Bunn Construction Company has been awarded the contract for this project, with a budget set at $2.48 million. ALDOT advises drivers to anticipate possible delays and encourages adherence to work-zone speed limits during the construction period.

For those seeking real-time traffic updates, ALDOT recommends downloading the ALGOTraffic app or visiting ALGOTraffic.com.
