ALABAMA OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR: REVIVE ALABAMA: COVID-19 Cash Grants for Alabama Small Businesses

Business

Alabama Office of the Governor issued the following announcement on July 16.

Alabama small businesses are a vital component of our communities and our state’s economy. Unfortunately, the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak has challenged our small businesses by forcing widespread closures, causing job losses, and threatening livelihoods.

U.S. Department of the Treasury guidance allows the state to use Coronavirus, Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act dollars for expenditures “related to the provision of grants to small businesses to reimburse the costs of business interruption caused by required closures.”

Through the Governor’s Revive Alabama Small Business Grant Program, $100 million of the state’s CARES Act funding is being dedicated to providing cash grants of up to $15,000 to reimburse Alabama small businesses for these business interruption expenses. The application process for these grants is being administered by the Alabama Department of Revenue (ALDOR).

The application period for the Revive Alabama Small Business Grant Program will open at noon on July 16, 2020, and run through midnight on July 25, 2020.
