U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) participated in several events across Alabama over the weekend, marking milestones and addressing key community groups.
On Saturday, Tuberville attended the 105th birthday celebration of Roy Drinkard in Cullman. Drinkard is recognized as the oldest known living Marine in the United States, having served during World War II before building a career in business. At the event, Tuberville informed Drinkard that his story was submitted to the Veterans’ History Project at the Library of Congress. He also presented Drinkard with a letter from former President Trump congratulating him on reaching 105 years.
The following day, Tuberville spoke at the annual conference of the Alabama Community College System in Orange Beach. His remarks centered on workforce development and supporting Alabama’s community colleges. "Sen. Tuberville has long been a champion of workforce development as he does not believe a traditional, four-year college degree is for everyone," according to his office.
On Monday, Tuberville addressed members of the Alabama Grocers Association. He discussed topics including efforts to protect Alabama farmland from foreign ownership, specifically China; the need for passage of a new Farm Bill; and domestic production impacts resulting from tariffs enacted by President Trump. The senator also mentioned legislative achievements benefiting Alabama farmers within what he referred to as the "One Big Beautiful Bill."
Tuberville serves as Alabama’s representative in the U.S. Senate and is a member of several committees: Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), and Aging.
